It's refreshing to look out over our progress and see the retreat center rounding into true form. We've hit some exciting landmarks over the past several weeks and the final stages are upon us.
March saw a scramble of activity as we had several weeks of preparation and installation for all of our solar equipment. We installed over 160 solar panels along with all the requisite inverters, power panels, batteries, racking systems and more. It's an amazing and very gratifying feeling to know that all of our power is coming from the sun.
The travertine floors in the guest rooms and the tinted floor of the Club House are all installed. The final coat of paint covers almost everything and should be finished next week. After that, all the teak and rattan furniture - along with wooden and stone sculptures and various decorative handicrafts - will come out of storage and bring the place to life.
We've bid farewell to the whales for the season and the weather around the Cape has started to warm up. We still have cool Pacific breezes on most days so the temperatures have been ideal. We probably have a couple more months of this before things begin to warm up in July.
We've had very positive response from the yoga teachers and group leaders who have seen the website and are excited about bringing their groups down for retreats. We're very grateful for all the compliments and words of encouragement as we prepare to throw open our doors and welcome people for the first time.
